About TCB
Talking Chicago Baseball was founded in February 2009 as a way for the authors to whine about the Cubs and White Sox. Now it is a top destination for all the latest Cubs and White Sox news and analysis. We have all the current news for both teams in Chicago and proudly do so with as much bias as possible.

In a deal reportedly worth $1.375 million dollars, the White Sox and 42 year old Omar Vizquel have agreed to terms.
I like this move a lot because it's basically like signing a coach who can come in late and give you a defensive upgrade. The coach part is the key though. Vizquel will be able to work closely with Alexei and Gordon Beckham to mold those two into a great DP-combo. Bacon and Alexei will probably man the Sox middle infield for the next 10 years or so. So learning from the best now, cannot hurt.
The price of Vizquel seems a little high, but if Kenny feels we have the money to make that move it obviously fits in the budget. More than a million dollars for an expected less than 100 AB's seems pretty expensive, but we pay Greg Walker for screwing up more than 100 AB's per year, so this certainly can't hurt.
